What We Learned While Alone: Global Voices Speak to the Pandemic

Join us for an eye-opening gathering where voices from around the world share personal experiences and lessons learned during the pandemic. This unique and fulfilling experience is one night only. You won’t want to miss the upcoming event: What We Learned While Alone: Global Voices Speak to the Pandemic.

This performance art event, organized by The Buckeye Book Fair, features poems from the book Dear Vaccine: Global Voices Speak to the Pandemic, published by The Kent State University Press. The book is a collection of poems that people from all over the world wrote during the pandemic to share their feelings, hopes, fears, and gratitude about the vaccine.

The event is on Monday, December 4th at 7:00pm at Wayne Center for the Arts in Wooster, Ohio. It is a unique theatrical event, where the artists share poems from the book with a captivating performance that reflects the diversity of voices and experiences during the pandemic. The event is also interactive, as the audience will get to text responses throughout the performance that will enhance the connection and emotion of the poetry.

The event is a collaboration between the Wick Poetry Center at Kent State University and the University of Arizona Poetry Center, who initiated the Dear Vaccine project to promote the healing and transformative power of poetry. Thousands of everyday people responded to the project from India to Ireland, from Maine to Hawaii, and we are grateful to offer this incredible event in Wooster,Ohio because of the generous support of the Ohio Arts Council.

Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the power of poetry and theater, and to join the global conversation about the pandemic and the vaccine. Tickets are not required for this special event. Screenshot this invitation now and get ready for a memorable night of What We Learned While Alone.
