The Buckeye Book Fair is dedicated to advancing literacy and a love for books across Ohio. This mission is shaped and sustained by a devoted Board of Directors who guide the organization’s vision and work. Comprised of community-minded individuals, the Board upholds the Buckeye Book Fair’s commitment to promoting reading, supporting authors + illustrators, and organizing educational events for all ages. We are currently seeking dedicated, passionate members to join our Board and help continue our positive impact on the literary landscape of Ohio.
Volunteer Leadership in Service of Literacy
Volunteers on our Board of Directors are at the heart of what makes the Buckeye Book Fair unique. We are a community-driven, nonprofit organization that values literacy, creativity, and accessibility in all its forms. As a Board member, you’ll play a crucial role in sustaining and growing our programs, from organizing our annual book fair to planning literacy events for students and young authors. Your commitment as a volunteer director helps ensure our organization continues to flourish as a force for literacy in Ohio and beyond.
Qualifications
To be eligible for nomination to our Board of Directors, you should:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission of promoting literacy and supporting authors, illustrators, readers, and educators.
- Be available to actively participate in board meetings, special events, and planning sessions.
- Be free from conflicts of interest and demonstrate a commitment to upholding the Buckeye Book Fair’s values.
How to Be Considered for Nomination
If you’re interested in serving as a candidate for our Board of Directors, please contact us by email at Info@BuckeyeBookFair.org. Applications should be submitted no later than December 1, 2025. Our Nominating Committee will review all applications, with candidates notified of their nomination status by January. The final list of candidates will be shared with our supporters and the public in February.
