Where Stories, Authors, and Readers Come Together

As we turn the page on another year, all of us at Buckeye Book Fair want to say thank you. Your enthusiasm for books, authors, and reading made this past year truly special. Because of you, The Buckeye Book Fair continues to be a place where stories connect us, ideas are shared, and literacy thrives. We are deeply grateful for your support and wish you a happy, healthy, and inspiring New Year.

We invite you to start the year by enjoying a cozy and meaningful presentation with Naomi Stutzman Gingerich, as she talks about Amish Baking at Home Cookbook: Recipes and Memories from My Heritage. It’s a warm celebration of food, family, and tradition, and a lovely way to settle into the season. Be sure to watch and share with fellow readers and bakers.

Looking ahead to summer, Early Bird Registration is now open for Buckeye Book Camp. This creative, confidence-building experience is a favorite for young readers, writers, and artists, and spots fill quickly. Thank you again for being part of our community. We can’t wait to share another year of stories with you.

More Than Just Writing and Drawing… Build Confidence This Summer

Buckeye Book Camp takes place July 27–31, 2026, in Wooster, Ohio, for students in 3rd through 8th grades. This Monday through Friday camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and helps young creatives build confidence through storytelling, illustration, collaboration, and play.

Naomi Stutzman Gingerich

There’s something deeply comforting about the smell of bread baking and recipes passed down through generations, and that spirit was at the heart of Naomi Stutzman Gingerich’s presentation on Amish Baking at Home Cookbook: Recipes and Memories from My Heritage at the 2025 Buckeye Book Fair.

Naomi invited audiences into her kitchen and her family history, sharing why Amish and Mennonite baking continues to captivate people who travel far and wide for its warmth, simplicity, and authenticity.

Through stories and recipes, Naomi showed how baking is more than food. It is memory, tradition, and care made tangible. Her cookbook brings that experience home, helping readers recreate the fresh-baked goodness of classic Amish desserts while preserving the heritage and values behind them. It was a reminder that the best recipes nourish both body and soul.

If you missed the presentation or want to revisit it, you can watch it online and share it with fellow food and book lovers. 🙋‍♀️ Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more author talks, presentations, and stories that celebrate reading, culture, and creativity.
