The Buckeye Book Fair is pleased to announce that the Ohio Arts Council has awarded three grants to support the continued growth and stability of our nonprofit literary organization. These awards recognize the importance of the Buckeye Book Fair’s mission and the vital role that readers, members, volunteers, and partners play in sustaining literacy initiatives across Ohio.

The first award is a Sustainability Grant of $6,500. This funding provides essential operational support and helps ensure that the Buckeye Book Fair can continue delivering the programs and services that the public has come to rely on. Sustainability funding strengthens the foundation of the organization and supports year-round work that benefits authors, educators, families, and readers.

The second award is a grant made in partnership with Tri-County Educational Service Center to continue the Young Authors Conference. This long-standing Young Authors Initiative brings students together to celebrate writing and creativity. The Ohio Arts Council’s support ensures that teaching artists can participate and that the Buckeye Book Fair can continue to host the event. The conference remains dependent on sponsorships to provide books for participating students, and the Buckeye Book Fair is actively seeking partners who wish to support this important tradition.

The third award is a Capacity Grant that arrives at a critical moment. Early this year, the Buckeye Book Fair learned that its warehouse setup would be changing. This shift affects book receiving, festival packing, logistics, and post-event shipping. To prepare for future needs, including the anticipated expansion required for the 2027 fortieth anniversary, the organization applied for funding to hire a consultant who could redesign logistics and guide the transition. The Ohio Arts Council has awarded funding to bring on consultant Christina Mong, who will assist with reworking systems, identifying new warehouse space, and managing the upcoming move. Community members with available square footage in the region are encouraged to contact the Buckeye Book Fair.

These grants reflect the confidence the Ohio Arts Council places in the Buckeye Book Fair’s mission. They also highlight the essential role of the book loving community. Every reader, volunteer, and member contributes to the strength of this organization. The Buckeye Book Fair extends its gratitude to the Ohio Arts Council and to the supporters who make this work possible.
