2026 October Buckeye Bookmark

As the seasons change and another year of literary adventures unfolds, we’re delighted to welcome you to this edition of The Buckeye Bookmark. In these pages, you’ll discover new opportunities to connect with books, authors, and fellow readers while helping sustain a tradition that has brought Ohio’s literary community together for nearly four decades.

This issue features an exciting new opportunity for writers: the Fall Writers Retreat at Casa Mirabella Guest House, a peaceful getaway designed to provide dedicated creative time while enjoying the literary energy leading up to Buckeye Book Fair weekend. You’ll also find our Holiday Gift Guide, filled with recommendations from Buckeye Book Fair authors and illustrators whose books make thoughtful gifts for readers of every age and interest.

As you explore this issue, we hope you’ll also consider becoming a member of the Buckeye Book Fair. Membership is one of the most meaningful ways to support our mission and ensure that the traditions readers look forward to each year continue for generations to come. Member support helps keep our beloved annual catalog in print, allowing readers across Ohio to discover new authors and plan their Fair experience. It also helps sustain the Young Authors Initiative, which encourages creativity, literacy, and a love of storytelling in the next generation of readers and writers.

When you become a member, you’re doing more than supporting a one-day event. You’re investing in year-round literacy programs, author visits, student writing opportunities, and the connections that books create within our communities. You’re helping us preserve a cherished Ohio tradition while building opportunities for young people to discover the power of their own voices.

Attention Libraries & Teachers!

Educators and librarians are at the heart of Ohio’s literary community, and we are grateful for the work you do every day to foster a love of reading. We are pleased to offer special opportunities to help you make the most of the 39th Annual Buckeye Book Fair, taking place Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Greystone Event Center in Wooster.

With more than 100 authors and illustrators and over 300 titles available, the Fair offers a remarkable opportunity to discover new books for your classrooms, libraries, and readers.

Educator & Library Discount
Teachers and librarians may receive a 20% discount when purchasing books using a purchase order or letter of authorization on school or library letterhead. For added convenience, pre-orders may be submitted to info@BuckeyeBookFair.org by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026, and orders will be available for pickup at the Fair.

We encourage you to explore this year’s catalog, discover new titles, and consider how the Buckeye Book Fair can support your students and patrons throughout the year.

Thank you for being part of the Buckeye Book Fair community. Whether you’re a reader, author, educator, librarian, volunteer, sponsor, donor, or member, your support helps us continue connecting readers and writers while investing in the future of literacy across Ohio.
