Summer reading season is here, and we’re busy preparing for the 39th Annual Buckeye Book Fair on November 7! In this issue, you’ll meet investigative memoirist James B. Wells, watch a fascinating conversation with mystery authors Amanda Flower, Julie Hatcher, and Patricia Sargeant, and learn how you can enter our Summer Book Escape Raffle. We’re also issuing a final call for author and illustrator submissions. If you know someone who belongs at the Buckeye Book Fair, now is the time to encourage them to apply. In honor of Black History Month, we are celebrating the Black authors who help shape the heart of the Buckeye Book Fair, including Savannah Flakes, Florenza Lee, Charity Pleasant, Patricia Sargeant, and Ashley Willow. We are grateful for the stories and perspectives they bring to our community and remain committed to creating space for even more voices in the years ahead.
We are also spotlighting the presentation “Choosing Your Publishing Path: Traditional vs. Independent,” featuring insights from Patricia Sargeant that left writers feeling informed, encouraged, and empowered about their creative journeys.
